My Blog Thing

I’m sure this is a familiar scenario for most of you; you’re at work, you feel a little peckish……you don’t want anything too big…but you want something….so what to have????

 A yoghurt maybe?  It’s healthy, calcium and various vitamins, and its quite filling, but not too much. 

So you buy one, it looks nice and it’s lovely and cold.  You sit down, and grab the little flap to open it.

And then disaster strikes!  By some unseen, unknown, possibly dark force that
Newton or Einsten could not have begun to comprehend, the yoghurt explodes from its plastic prison, like a dam busting, or like the face of a 14 year old, causing an annoying, if usually minor, dubious looking stain somewhere. 

It can’t have just been me this has happened to.  But imagine if the above was a film, directed by Quentin Tarantino, and it would adequately describe what happened.  I opened the lid to a volcanic eruption of yoghurt, a geyser that could have graced
Yellowstone national park, a tidal wave of milk based foodstuff.   

The yoghurt found its way onto my face (luckily protected by glasses, otherwise I could have been blinded by strawberry seeds), my shirt (a dark blue), my suit jacket (black), and most devilishly, the groin area of my trousers………. Not good at all!

Now I’m not exaggerating (well not much).  The explosion caused the person next to me to jump, maybe the worlds first ever yoghurt induced alarm?  It also happened 5 minutes before a meeting where I would have to present something and therefore would have to stand up; removing the plan of washing my trousers as this would have produced a slightly more embarrassing stain with no time to dry (the trust doesn’t have hand driers – damn infection control).

It was an appalling moment – almost sheer panic – presenting to a room of people, covered in food.

But I had to do it, so I tried to wipe the worst off, buttoned my jacket to hide the shirt, and did it anyway…….will I ever dare to get a reference off these people????
